Police accounts report finding alot of blood and broken glass at the scene
The family of a top rally driver currently in high dependency unit at a Nairobi hospital is appealing for blood donation as the facility works around the clock to save his life.
A woman was Tuesday presented before a Nairobi court to face charges of assaulting the said driver who is said to be her boyfriend.
The celebrity girlfriend, who cannot be identified after a ruling by senior principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi, however claimed she was the victim.
She made an application to the court for the case to be heard in camera, saying she was a victim and needed protection.
When she was presented in court, the police asked the court to detain the woman for 14 days because the injured boyfriend was still unconscious and in critical condition.
The court heard that the man sustained a deep cut in his ankle, which was allegedly inflicted by the woman.
The couple has been together since last year and reports indicate that a neighbour, worried about a disturbance in their apartment, called the man's sibling who in turn called the relevant authorities to the house.
Police accounts report finding a lot of blood and broken glass at the scene.
